In good sun, we get about 4-5 amps per hour from them. I can't remember, right now, how many watts per panel. They work great keeping our two 6-volt batteries charged, as long as we have good direct sun and keep our power usage within limits. They will not run an A/C, microwave or any other appliance that requires AC. You can buy a inverter that will convert DC to AC, but they really suck up the amps--fast.Yours, -- posted by Tom_Stephens » ChuckGoldsmith - Palimino I,m new to this site so I,m still trying to figure things out. I rented a Starecraft Venture Pop up before I bought and we decided to buy. We have owned a truck camper (El Dorado) and liked it and owned three different trailers ( Nomad, Monitor, Concord ). We've enjoyed them all. And we have always had a tent. Our latest is a 1995 Palimino Filly Pop up . 6 sleeper, ice box, no furnace,(we will get ceramic heater,) used twice by retiree. Had to peel the film off the stove. $2800. We love it! My advice to anybody , is to rent before buying,( if possible,) buy a good used unit(one owner if possible) it has been debugged and somebody else has ate the depreciation.We pull it with a 90 Astro van 4.3 liter , don't know it's there. sorry for rambling on, but we love to camp and now that the kids are grown we can golf and camp at the sme time.-- posted by ChuckGoldsmith » ChuckGoldsmith - porta potty Thetford is good brand I'm from MI and they are made locally so there are lots of them around d sales etc P.S. Does anyone know the meanings of the abbreviations as follows:TNBV PNBE GTW - 950 lbs. any input very much appreciated. Thanks -- posted by suzzeyq » Tom_Stephens - GTW Susan,I know that the GTW stands for Gross Trailer Weight. This means the weight of the trailer with the equipment that came with it, NOT anything you may put in or on the trailer. The other two I don't know--sorry. You might find out by going to a manufacturer of pop-ups Web site and emailing them with your question. Most are very helpful along those lines. I've read through a lot of the postings and understand that we should not be rushing into anything without first differentiating between what we want and what we need. But, I am lazy and was wondering what everyone else thinks is important. So far we've only seen the Colemans, and are interested in the Bayside. We like the size since we usually camp in large groups. Are we in the ballpark, or should we be heading another direction. Also, what other brands should we be looking at?-- posted by Ninerfan » bennybinga - Used Coleman Price We just bought our first Pop-Up today and will pick it up Monday.We bought a used 2000 Coleman Sea Pine with 3-way Fridge, A/C and awning for $6895. Immaculate condition, and then talked the dealer into installing a class II receiver hitch and throwing in the new add-a-room for another 400.00. Total cost was 7295.00. Good deal? Any thoughts. Yeah,I'm looking for the old expenditure validation. Oh well, can't wait to join you ranks of pop-uppers. From what both of you have said, it sounds to me like you did indeed get a very good deal. Buying brand new, you are going to pay lots more. Hope you have a great camping time--both of you.
