On the back of this trailer are both red and yellow lights. The red lights work fine giving me brakes, directionals, and running lights. I can't seem to get the yellow lights to work. I've replaced the bulbs, and checked to make sure that they are connected. Can anyone tell me what these yellow lights should control. It has hot water and inside shower. However it does not have a 3 way fridge(we were thinking of buying a portable one if we purchase this trailer). The asking price is $3800. Also, despite what the books say, what do you recommend as the maximum towing weight for our vehicle? Besides air shocks would you reccomend any other things to beef up our van for towing? Thanks! -- posted by Scott_Cindy » Tom_Stephens - Scott and Cindy Your towing capacity is probably about 2000 lbs. Is this what the book says on your van? What does the 88 Coleman weigh? I would be sure that the trailer has electric brakes. Let me tell you from experience that is very important! Also, to help your van tow the pop-up without overheating, I would for sure have a transmission cooler installed. They are not very expensive--around $60 I would say. I think that the weight for the van is around 2200lbs, I will have to check the book again for sure. The Williamsburg is around 1800lbs. The icebox is no longer with the unit, however, he had a 3-way fridge.Today we looked at new Coleman trailers and fell in love with the "Nevada" ($8400). Any thoughts on this model? It is just like the Cheyenne, however, it has a toilet/shower unit. The front storage would be great and it is about the maxium weight for towing with our van. We also considered the Westlake, as it has a larger living arrangement (it does not have front storage)along with a toilet/shower unit. We would love to have a slide out dinette, however, the weight/price is too high. Also, we are debating the pros and cons of a new (expensive - is it worth that much $$) trailer and an older (fairly cheap) one? I know that the tent material has changed quite a bit along with many other things to consider. We are a four person family with 2 small children (3yrs and 1mo). We mainly plan to use the trailer for camping most weekends in the gorge (windsurfing, fishing, hiking, etc) during late spring, all summer, and early to mid fall. Also, do you know of any used Coleman Tent Trailers? (Our only used trailer source is the Oregonian Newspaper) Where is a good place to store a tent trailer, if your driveway is not an option? Well, after 6 months of shopping and haggling, We got a sweet deal on a new Coleman Taos at a dealer's clearance sale. We were leaning toward the Starcraft product, but we couldn't pass up the deal on the Coleman plus the dealer is closest to us.Can't wait to get out and use it! -- posted by Dano29 » Scott_Cindy - Used Coleman 1997 - Key West The saga continues...We are now going up to Seattle this weekend to look at a Coleman 1997 Key West. I got the price down to $6800. Which seems pretty reasonable for a Grand Tour Series. Apparently this unit is loaded (screen room, roof racks, optional covers, etc. and in impeccable condition. I also finally figured out that our van can tow 3000lbs. Any comments on this trailer and asking price. And what do the 1997's look like inside? It is now made by Fleetwood which has its home near us--Riverside,Ca. One thing for sure guys, get what you really want when you buy. It is too late after your purchase to say,"Boy I sure wish we had gotten this option!" I really don't know how the 97 looks inside. Did you try the Coleman web site? You sound like you are doing a good job with your research and you are approaching your purchase with both eyes open. That's the important thing--don't allow your emotions to over shadow your rational thinking and your real needs and desires.
