I have a 1978 Starcraft. We have a metal strip on ours with a channel down the middle. It is located just below the top of the camper. We just took a tarp folded the edge over a piece of 3/8 rope and secured the folded flap with duct tape. I have two adjustable poles we place in the corner grommets of the tarp, and secure them with rope and tent stakes. When setting up you just feed the end of the tarp with the rope through the channel, I found it to be easier to do it, when the top is down, and just flip it on the top of the camper until set up. Then flip it down , set up poles, and stake it down. It has worked well for me and has held up through some pretty severe weather.I dont know if you have the same type of setup, but it is aoretty inexpensive and easy way to do it.
