for a Coleman or any other pop up trailer is it possible to use torsion bars to take the weight of the back of tow vehicle for levelling purpose?

Hello,
I have a 1969 Sears Tent Trailer. It is a Ted Williams signature series. I have read that Sears Roebuck sold Apache made trailers in the early 60's. Its heritage can be read in this short essay http://www.rv-news.com/may2003/heritage....
I've posted some pictures of my tent trailer on the apachepopups.net user galleries page 4.
I bought mine off e-bay for $400 ready to go.
I wouldn't sell it for $1000!
Good luck with it.
Mine worked out well for me last week.

» GreenJody - New Pop-up user

Our family decided to take the plunge into the world of pop-up comping after years of tent camping. We wanted to keep our purchase price below $4,500 and went to the Starcraft and Coleman dealers. The Starcraft dealer had nothing we liked in our price range. The Coleman dealer had several including a new Taos but after seeing a 2002 Viking Saga 2308, in like new condition for $4,000, we fell in love. We just liked the layout as we have 3 kids who tend to want to bring a friend or two along and the 2308 can be made into 4 sleeping areas which can handle up to 8 people. There are very few posts about the Viking brand and the 2308 in particular, but any info would be greatly appreciated. We take our first weekend trip this Friday to try things out.

I'm interested in selling a 97 Niagra. I've just stated the process to decide where to list, who to list with, amount to ask, etc. My search engine pulled up your listing when I wrote Coleman Tent Traillers. I live in WA. If you'd like to discuss just respond to this mail.

In response to message posted by Ken12:

Now Im really starting to get worried,we also bought a 1988 Rockwood pop-up,our first, and the minute we brought it home it wouldnt pop-up...lol..so we took it back to the dealer and they fixed it.Well we bought it in Georgia and took it from Augusta down to Savannah and then up the east coast to where my husband is stationed in Norfolk,Va and parked it because camping season was over.Well we took it out for the first time this season and it was fine, then we try to pop it up at home and nothing,I felt inside and it feels like the chain is caught between the housing its in and the gear and I dont know how to get it back on the gear.I called around and the estimates are pretty steap ranging from $300 up.Has anyone had this problem and if so can they tell me how they fixed it?Ive read alot of problems about Rockwood and always thought they were a good brand, beginning to think I got stuck with a pig in a poke now.Any info would be VERY appreciated.Sorry this is so long.

You need to pack your trailer evenly front to back and side to side. This will prevent swaying without swaybars.

We bought a 1969 Apache with a door in the back of the trailer this weekend at an auction. Does anyone have directions for how to set it up?

» 73revordnal - Apache related website

In response to message posted by 2chele:

Anyone who has an Apache or questions related to Apache trailers, I would recommend visiting http://www.apachepopups.net/ for information. The website has loads of information about softside and hardside Apaches.
Its difficult to describe how to set up and take down a soft side Apache (or Sears Tent trailer) its much easier if someone shows how its done. There is a gallery in the website posted above that details how to assemble a soft side canvas tent trailer.
P.S I don't visit this site very much.
contratulations and good luck with it.
I used mine a couple weeks ago and it did great. Of course its better than sleeping in a tent on the ground!
