I am going to look at a 1979 Starcraft Galaxy on Saturday. It has apparently been very well maintained. The seller wants $800 Canadian (around $550 US). I'm new to the pop up world and I wonder if this is a good trailer and if this is a good price. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks! Danny-- posted by here4goodca » drmctchr - Palomino Questions Does anyone have a palomino? Do you know where I can find a replacement porch light for a 1990 hard side pop-up? The mfg. does not have it anymore. Any other info or tips on that brand would be appreciated. I am also looking for a floorplan of ours, a 1990 txl model. Thanks-- posted by drmctchr » KK3 - 1998 Coleman Rio Hi! We are new to the site and have enjoyed reading the messages. We are about to start our fourth camping season with our Rio, and I can't wait to go out. It has room for us and a bunch of the grandchildren. We (family of four) camped for 25 or so years in a tiny Sears pop-up with no amenities, and happily towed it all around the country. The final trip, we camped with holes in the canvas roof, decided that was it, and went out and found the Coleman. We gave the Sears to our son and his family who took the beds off, threw away the canvas, and used the empty trailer to haul all of their gear while they tent camped. They now have a Coleman. Anyone out there have the Rio, and how do you like yours?-- posted by KK3 » Stangaroo - New fabric for 1993 Sequoia We just took our trailer (1993 Coleman Sequoia) out of storage and unfortunately some mice have had a nice warm winter in there. There has been quite a bit of damage. The small bed has been chewed apart for a nest. The large bed has been chewed and urine and feces have badly soiled it. The cushions for the dinette have been chewed and soiled. The curtains at the small bed end have been chewed apart. However, the biggest problem which is keeping us out of it is that the canvas at the small bed end has been thoroughly chewed through - roof, walls, screen, all of it. The side walls are the Evolution 3 waffle fabric in gray. We'd like to get this repaired ASAP and were wondering if anyone could steer us in the right direction. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. -- posted by Stangaroo » deedee1941 - just bought pop up I'm hoping someone can give me some info. on a Coleman Sedona (2001)pop up. I just purchased one through eBay, and as yet still don't know the length and width of it. The only pictures I've seen of it was over the internet. Can someone tell me that. Also, has anyone purchase the same kind recently? Also, the price was $3800. Can you tell me if that is a good price. I was only used 3 times and is to be in perfect condition. It looked really nice. I had a pop up years ago, but I'm not sure what the going price for this model and year would be. Any info. would be appreciated. Also, I just read about covering your pop up is not a good idea. Please educate me on this also. Thanks for your help -- posted by deedee1941 » KK3 - Re: just bought pop up Can't help you with the price comparison, only with the cover question. Coleman doesn't want you to cover its pop-ups and it could void the warranty if you do so. Covering tightly traps moisture inside, which can lead to the dreaded mildew. That said, we also have a Coleman, and when we store it outside for winter, we drape a tarp loosely over the top. It is nowhere near air tight and the wind circulates all around it. It just makes me feel better, even thought Coleman says it is not necessary. We use a silver colored tarp so it won't cook the roof in hot weather, and take it off in the spring when the weather turns warm. We also put DRI Z AIR inside and it absorbs moisture during the winter.Hope this helps. We are debating if it is easier just to take the whole roof off to do the repairs, Any suggestions? The end walls were water damaged and need to be replaced and the thin wallpaper was coming off.-- posted by lauralee610 » Lily2900 - pop up vs. tent sites Just spent a soggy weekend in the Mts of NC. Now we are considering the pop up option. Having a pop up in the RV areas, is there a compressor, noise problem? How do the actual sites compare, closeness, and Visual space? Are there bathrooms like at the tent areas? And, my husband is 6'2"..... how's the head space? Thanks for your experience.
