It was definately better than not having one, however, I wanted some more heat. They last about 8 hours and we had to leave the vent open. It is scary to leave it on when sleeping without a CO detector, even thought they say it is for tent indoor use. Well, after that, I bought a gravity fed heater that uses outside air and my 20 pound propane tank. Depends on how comfy you want to be. -- posted by PathsBeyond » DavidandNett - Re: Question about selling Pop-Up In response to message posted by archiew:You can look up your camper value on the web at NADAguides.com Depending on demand in your area and how soon you need to sell your tent camper, you can usually get the higher end price or slightly more. Tent campers are hard to find so you can use that to your advantage...the folks we bought ours from did. -- posted by DavidandNett » DavidandNett - Pulling problems with our pop-up We just completed our first long trip with our pop up and had major problems with it swaying back and forth. Speed didn't seem to matter and it did it even when no one was driving around us or passing us. We tried removing weight, adding weight. We have a new class 2 hitch. What causes this? What are suggestions for lessening it. Thanks-- posted by DavidandNett » NJCAMPR - Re: Pulling problems with our pop-up In response to message posted by DavidandNett:They make anti-sway bars for this very problem. Any good camping dealer, Campers World or hitch place will have them. They run about $125-175.00. This will keep the camper "in track" with your tow vehicle a lot better. I don't use one but have looked into them in the event we needed one. There are differences in models so research them first. You may want to try popuptimes.com. The forum there can probably give you some great tips or use the search feature. You want one that connects and disconnects easy. As I recall, when ever you backup, you must remove the sway control bar..Good luck. -- posted by NJCAMPR » HpyKampers - Re: Re: Heaters In response to message posted by PathsBeyond:Curious about the gravity fed heater. Never heard of this. Sounds interesting. Do you have any information? TIA -- posted by HpyKampers » PathsBeyond - Re: Re: Re: Heaters In response to message posted by HpyKampers:Yes, I have heard of them. In fact, I bought one at the RV junkyard and have used it 3 times now. It is real good. Keeps camper warm. I can relocate the thermostat if I want it warmer, so far I only had it out in the high teens. Much better than the little coleman deal. Had to cut a hole in the side of my trailer, always a scary proposition, but it worked out fine. Dealing with Propane, you always have to be careful. I used copper tubing to T into my stove. Everytime I take it out I check the connections for leaks with some soapy water. Also bought a CO/smoke detector I put in. Works great though. Best of all you don't need to run the battery down by using a fan. Just heats trailer up by convection. -- posted by PathsBeyond » DavidandNett - Re: Re: Pulling problems with our pop-up In response to message posted by NJCAMPR:Thanks!!!! -- posted by DavidandNett » ChuckGoldsmith - Re: Pulling problems with our pop-up In response to message posted by DavidandNett:If your tow vehicle ball is to high it will sway, tow car should be level with trailer, the ball , should be tilted back about 5 degrees(the ballis adjustable) this is the system I,ve used for 25 yrs and havn't had to use sway bars. I've used it with 30 FT trailers(with leveling bars) and Pop-ups(without the leveling bars) and haven't had problems. hope this helps. Chuck -- posted by ChuckGoldsmith » ChuckGoldsmith - Re: pop up problems! In response to message posted by happycampers:I have a 95 Palimino, so this might not apply to your camper. Lower camper,(and latch), Take up slack in the cable with the crank,(don't over tighten) on the back of the camper(underneath)there is a pully with an adjustable bolt and nut, take up the slack, again, don't over tighten, this takes a few trial and errors, it worked on my Palimino, but yours might be different. Good Luck and Hang in there ! As my 7th Grade Eng. teacher and my Army Drill Sergeant(Jan1969)said, the only stupid question is the one that isn't asked! Good Luck and have fun Camping!
