I was looking for coleman site but couldnt find it before. You got me thinking about camping again from last article. We had a coleman before and loved it so thinking about getting another. They are easy to set up, if I can do it anyone can. -- posted by Gaia » Nancy - Hi, just back from a pop-up camping trip. My pop-up is a camper Hi, just back from a pop-up camping trip. My pop-up is a camper that sits on the back ofmy pick-up truck. It pops up about 2 feet to allow head room and a cab over bunk. Its novel enough it gets people to stop and ask how it works. I bought it QUITE used. I'm currently looking for a contact for Palomino -the manufactures. I like the fact that it offers less wind resistance while traveling and can go most places that cars can go... BTW that Trip Planner '98 worked great! -- posted by Nancy » Tom_Stephens - Sounds like you had a great time. Pam and I really enjoyed our p Sounds like you had a great time. Pam and I really enjoyed our pop-up and at times wish we still had it. We have had a hardsided trailer now for about seven years, and we are hooked. Just returned from a 29 day trip through Oregon and Washington. We are glad to be home, but are planning are next trip already.-- posted by Tom_Stephens » Claws68 - Cassandra Laws I love to camp and have been camping in a tent Cassandra LawsI love to camp and have been camping in a tent for the last three years. I just had a baby nine months ago and have been looking at pop-ups for a little more convenience. I wanted to know if the air conditioners in the pop-ups really cools well. My husband loves to fish and the places where he fish are not places that you can easily set up the tent that we have, which was another reason I was looking at pop-ups. So another question I had was about the model of pop-ups that come with a shower, are they more trouble than their worth and if not would it be better to have the shower on the inside or the outside or both? What are tandem wheels? -- posted by Claws68 » Tom_Stephens - Hi Cassandra, Welcome to Suite101 and my camping page. I'll try Hi Cassandra,Welcome to Suite101 and my camping page. I'll try to answer your questions as best I can. Yes, the A/C on tent-trailers works great. If you are in a warm climate, I would be sure and get one. You can be very comfortable in a pop-up. As for the shower, you must put it together when you set up your trailer. But, with a fold-up trailer, everything folds up. They are not that much trouble if you like to have that option available to you. For us, it would be well worth it! Shop around some and try them for yourself. Also, there are a lot of pop-up retailers who have rentals available. That is a smart way to go. Try renting one for a weekend or so.Outside showers are certainly less trouble using, but you forfeit your privacy with it. Now, tandem axles on a trailer means that it will have four wheels. I don't know of a pop-up that does. My suggestion to you is this; read my article on pop-up trailers. I include some good links to manufacturers and the pop-up newsgroup. Hope I have been of some help. Take your time shopping and compare brands and prices. Be sure to select what you need in a camper before you buy. -- posted by Tom_Stephens » Bill_McCorkle - tandem axles 1980 Jayco Cardinal Series came out with tandem axles.
