» StCatherine - Thanks for this article!

The church hierarchy has handled this kind of thing in secret in the past. Church leaders seem kind of shocked to me that their actions have not brought about appeasement in the community. I think its past time for the hierarchy to become way more strict in its handling of this kind of misconduct, not to mention more strict in who becomes a priest.

As a parent, I'm mad!!!!!! And my child has not even been molested, but has seen enough misconduct not punished that she doesn't take morality as serious as she should. I'm mad at a church that sets the example of "keeping secrets." That has not set a good example for my teenager. It's like saying if you don't get caught, its OK. Or if you get caught, you can just go on a retreat and then move.

I'd like to see Boston's Law resign and a few more butts kicked. I mean that literally. Corporal punishment or maybe just some prison hard labor wouldn't be an innapropriate punishment for some people.

I wouldn't trade my Catholic faith for anything though. ; )

In response to message posted by StCatherine:

Your sentiments are shared by many Catholics here in Acadiana. I am proud that one of my most intelligent former students was recently ordained into the priesthood.
