These plants are very precious as the seed was sent to me by Liz Kerr. When should they flower Bill ??-- posted by Mary_Wise » Ixia - Flowering mine start flowering about November/December, and it will depend on saeason, climate, where you live etc. They stay flowering right through this period until Feb and produce their lovely seed podss. You will get stacks of seed. Next time you go the the Melbourne Zoo have a look as they have big stands of them growing -- posted by Ixia » Ixia - very nice Hi Jojo, your bog sounds lovely - Thyrsifolia certainly likes it wet but mine grow very well in a dry area also. What conditions do you grow bracteata in. It is deciduous not evergreen. Do you keep it dry during dormancy - or is it in the bog garden all year? I'd be interested to know. Thanks for the message. -- posted by Ixia » Paul_Tyerman - Re: Re: An interesting plant In response to message posted by Ixia:Bill, Do you have a picture? I am not familiar with them although I am sure if I was a little less lazy I could find them in my books -- posted by Paul_Tyerman » Ixia - Re: Re: Re: An interesting plant In response to message posted by Paul_Tyerman:

And it is frost tolerant I think you mentioned above? -- posted by Paul_Tyerman » Ixia - Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: An interesting plant In response to message posted by Paul_Tyerman:Paul, -- posted by Ixia » Paul_Tyerman - Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: An interesting plant In response to message posted by Ixia:Bill, Hmm.... definite food for thought that.
