» red_activist - small town Bodhi Day

I wanted to thank everyone on their ideas for how to celebrate Bodhi Day. Growing up in an almost purely Christian town (I would say my highschool is 88% Christian, 10% atheist, and 2% everything else) I make up my own traditions. This year is only my second as a Buddhist, and the only other Buddhists in my town I know of are Tibetian, while I am Zen. I don't even know if other Zen Buddhists celebrate Bodhi Day, but I do to teach others of my religion. What I did last year... and hope to this year... is walk through my high school handing out small trinkets (last year it was beads) and telling a little to everyone who accepted a bead about what this day means.
