would prefer that our news media adopt the "gag" rule. I have heard stories about scores of voters who were waiting in line at polling places in California, listening to the news reports, actually leaving the polling place without casting a vote, since the election had already been decided! Same goes for other western states. We'll never know now, if those votes could've impacted the stalemate we find ourselves in.-- posted by Purpleflame

In response to message posted by Purpleflame:You're right, we'll never know! Here in NZ it's a standing newsroom joke that we're only allowed to talk about the weather on election day. I guess another factor is that America is such a huge country that some polls have closed hours ahead of California and the western states...
