Most of us were shocked when Beryl's book, According to Queeney, didn't make it to the shortlist.

Something I read recently said that she has set a standard with this book by which all other historical novels will be judged.

I really liked your article, I think we should all be able to vote Beryl back onto the Booker short-list.
