» Tricia_S - The cleverness of Christie

What an interesting idea! Could it be that the presented solution was wrong? Maybe it is time I reread some Christie novels. My daughter has nearly read all of the Nancy Drew Mysteries, so maybe I should pick something new to start her out on.

What I have always thought so fascinating about Christie is that most of the time she tells her reader early on who the murderer is. In Crooked House, I remember she says that the culprit will want to keep talking about the murder. And there is one character who does - but the brilliance of Christie is that she adds a twist so that we discount this person and then find out we were wrong to do so.

Good article. I enjoyed it.
