The odds are that your sharks are sick, and it sounds like some type of parasite.
Sorry!
Thanks Doug

» pwalkerBSC - Feeding Bala Sharks ?

I just purchased 3 bala sharks today. I asked the fish dept what i should feed them and was told to use shimp pellets and flakes. From what i read on this website, what the store told me doesn't seem right. What would you suggest for my sharks which are all roughly 3 inches long. I have them in a 20 gallon tank. I have some decorations, a potted plant, and no other fish. How much should i feed them and how often.

Hi Pat

I believe that all fish should have a very mixed diet, and that includes veggies like greens, frozen foods like frozen brine shrimp, blood worms, flakes shrimp pellets and or shrimp flakes.

Spice up their lives a bit , I know that I would be bored eating the same day in and day out. Plus if you do that they get everything they need and will be healthier and live longer!

They will basically eat everything, if given time to get used to it. As for feeding I would feed twice aday small portions!

Hope this helps and feel free to e mail me at any time!
Thanks Doug
