» biogardener - Spitz Did you all know what the name "Spitz" means? It is the common German adjective meaning "pointed." We say, for example, that a pencil is "spitz" when it has just been sharpened. A look at the dog's nose confirms that he is indeed "pointed" like a white sharpened pencil with the black nose representing the pencil lead.So that is where the name comes from. -- posted by biogardener
