» Red - gifts for Meeko...

Joy,

This is an excellent article with lots of great ideas for gifts for our dogs. Meeko needs a new ball and a new collar. His collar is out to the farthest notch and it is a 28" one. So, as he's growing older, he is thickening up.
We always buy him special treats for Christmas so he can be part of the family at gift opening time.

Have a wonderful Christmas with all of your pets and Christmas blessings to you and your family.

Meeko is a big boy! Sounds like he's filling out even though he's grown up and I'm sure he would be proud to have a new collar to wear. I'm glad you brought this up because it's a good opportunity to remind pet owners that growing puppies and dogs need to have their collars checked often; weekly would be good. They grow so quickly that collars can become tight before you know it!

My German Shepherd didn't stop filling out until he was about 3 years old, and he weighed 112 lbs in his prime.

All my dogs have different personalities so they always get different gifts but the important thing is that they feel a part of the family.

Best wishes to you and yours, Mary, for a beautiful Christmas season!

Joy,

Meeko is 4. He didn't really start filling out until this last year. The last time the Vet weighted him, he was 94 lbs., but I have a feeling that he is a bit more than that now. He was weighed in the spring. Seems his chest has become broader and his neck has thickened. I didn't realize that dogs filled out so much after they were that old.

I'm glad that you reminded all our readers to keep an eye on their dog's collar. Sometimes puppies and dogs grow very quickly and they need a collar that is comfortable.

Have a terrific holiday season, my friend. So nice to have you in Kids' Korner.

I could not resist this article, Joy. My Bichon likes to eat the gift wrap paper. Also to pull off the tags and chomp them. LOL! The little sweaters are so adorable. I saw a doggie the other day with his yellow rain slicker on. It was raining and he was really sporting his new duds.

Bear does like the goodies, but he has never played with toys. He totally ignores them. He will chew the Boda Bones, but that is all. I guess he will get another Boda Bone, and his monthly Heart Worm Chew for his treat. Enjoyed your read very much.

Bear is a sweetheart, I've seen his picture! Isn't it funny the way pets have their own unique personalities and we have to choose gifts accordingly just like for humans.

Merry Christmas to you, Virginia. I'm glad you enjoyed the article.

» Joy Butler - Pets

Hi, this is Kevin again. I'm staying up late reading for Christmas.

I have two dogs, a Yellow Lab named Ranger and a Lab/Chow named Cuddles. They are really fun to play with. Ranger plays ball and fetches sticks. Cuddles plays with Ranger. I have a cat named Mocha. He plays ball too. I love my pets!
