Ephedrine - A Dangerous Drug?Read the article this discussion is about
This archived discussion is "read only". « Previous 1 2 3 4 Next » » pi1964 - Re: Re: to those safely using ephedrine/caffeine- any problems? Hi- I am in Liverpool UK. I am 38 yrs old. I have been bodybuilding for fifteen years. 2 years ago i started to use a product called Ultimate Orange. I bought it in a Gym and was told it was a supplement and safe. After using it i felt amazing- my training improved and i could train for hours after a hard days work. I was not told that it contained Ephedrine- Hell i did not know what ephedrine was. I was a clean bodybuilder- i used nothing.I felt tired after work and the new supplement was amazing. My physique was A1 and did people notice! I soon noticed that i needed more and more and more to get the same effect- it seemed i was getting immune. Then i was finding it hard to sleep. After six months i stopped using it and i found it was removed from sale. I carried on training but my health declined very fast. I could only train for half hour and i was drained- not mentally but physically. Before using the product i never suffered colds or flu- now i was getting colds very often. I went to hospital- i had a virus in my blood. I was suffering with the Flu for two months while on tablets to boost my immune system. My training is finished now- i try every so often to make a come back but after fifteen minutes i am so ill and tired i have to stop. My heart rate increases with even mild training, i feel cold all over and i start shaking. Please be warned- there are people out there who may not give a damn about your health. Traindontural- dont look at the steroid freaks, they die young or suffer disease. Train hard and i promise you it will pay off- think of it as a business- if you build it up to quick it is going to crash. I wish someone told me like i am telling you- then maybe i would still be working out today. -- posted by pi1964 » MattD_2 - Re: Re: Re: to those safely using ephedrine/caffeine- any proble In response to message posted by pi1964:Hey pi1964, that's quite a double-whammy you have there with your story of how ephedrine turned you abusive and suicidal, and 4 minutes later you submit another story about how ephedrine ruined your health. Umm... No offense buddy, but it is starting to smell a tad suspicious with all these horror stories cropping up. Ephedrine is a central stimulant, the same as coffee, not the devil incarnate. I very much doubt ephedrine is responsible for your abusiveness, suicidal tendencies, virus or busted immune system, but I am of course not your doctor so consider it personal speculation. Still, I think it may be time for a reality check regarding the various postings that appear here where people tell the most hideous stories but conveniently never reply to any follow up posts where people ask about the specific circumstances (see Cookie's post.) -- posted by MattD_2 » Rawrfee - Re: to those safely using ephedrine/caffeine- any problems? Hello everyone,Well, it's been 7 days without ephedrine or coffee. I decided to just go cold-turkey and surprisingly, I'm totally fine! To help myself out in the transition I've been drinking green tea and taking ginseng pills. However, my mood is fine, and I don't have any withdrawal headaches or cravings. I'm surprised that I have as much energy as I do! I think that I was beginning to think that the ephedrine/caffeine pills gave me all of the energy I had. I guess I know better now. In retrospect, I think that much of the "mild" addiction was psychological. I guess, however, that addiction *is* often mostly psychological. I have definitely lost some of my jaguar-like definition, but that's ok. I'm eating much healthier as well. This has been a good exercise, but I think that I will still use ephedrine/caffeine so that I have the "energy to burn" that I will definitely need for when I start my second year of grad school. Any comments? I thought I was having a heart attack and was going to die -- all I could do was lay down, and it was terrible. Thanks for making the initial post about the danger of taking these types of supplements, I am interested in finding out why this happened to me. I had been taking the supplement for about two months with no adverse reactions -- all positive, added strength, mental clarity, reduction in weight.... I now believe that since these supplements are not regulated, some individual capsulals may contain extremely high levels of ephedrine and or other ingredients.... -- posted by mowtow » zxman43 - Re: Re: Re: Re: to those safely using ephedrine/caffeine- any pr In response to message posted by MattD_2:No offensMattDtD_2, but you are dead wrong. In no way shape or form do you make any sense about your rash comments on ephedrine. Do some research and then post your personal opinion. Ephedrine is very dangerous, whether you are young, old or what ever. You can have perfect health and take the right dosage and be screwed up for life. If you did your research, it is confirmed that ephedrine causes depression and anxiety......bet you didn't know that. It probably doesn't feel good having this thrown back in your face does it??? Well that is how you probably made the person you wrongfully ripped feel. It's people like you who post irrational crap with no research to back your opinion, that piss me off. You need not only a reality check, but a IQ test as well. Think before you type, you may make an ass out of your self. -- posted by zxman43 » MattD_2 - Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: to those safely using ephedrine/caffeine- an In response to message posted by zxman43:Wow, you sure showed me, didn't you? How about sharing some of this extensive research you claim to have done? I'm particularly interested in the depression/anxiety study. In the mean time, here are a few studies YOU may find interesting: -- posted by MattD_2 » littlekitty11 - in reference to side effects from ephedrine We are talking about Ephedrine here and I assume you all know that methamphetimine(speed, crank) is made from ephedrine. I have taken ephedrine for years and my consumption of them has increased to 60 pills a day and that isn't at my worst. The reason for 60 pills a day is because after taking 3 pills a day they don't work like they did so you increase your dosage to more and it starts to snowball. These legal pills are bad news. And to the one who says they don't cause depression when you stop taking them is whacked! READ about the effects of withdrawl from amphetamines and you will get the real deal.-- posted by littlekitty11 » littlekitty11 - Re: to those safely using ephedrine/caffeine- any problems? In response to message posted by Rawrfee:Please read my message from little kitty I have been taking the regularly for years. All those pills are is a legal speed and are devestating to your health. -- posted by littlekitty11 » MattD_2 - Re: in reference to side effects from ephedrine In response to message posted by littlekitty11:What exactly, besides the obvious fact that you're a moron, does your increased abuse and subsequent dependency prove? It's guys like you that caused ephedra to get slated for a total US ban next year. -- posted by MattD_2 » cindy24 - Re: please if you love yourself don't take hydroxycut In response to message posted by cookie65:HI, my name is Carmen De Souza(24 yrs old) and I wanted to give you my opinion on this delicate matter of consuming a dietary supplement as Hydroxycut. -- posted by cindy24 « Previous 1 2 3 4 Next » Please follow the guidelines set forth in the Suite101 Posting Etiquette when adding to the discussion. |
