» Megamachine - Great Article..

Just for the record I will list my bulking breakfast..and my cutting breakfast and see what you think.

Bulking:
8eggs with yolks
1/2 cup of whole wheat cereal
2 servings of oatmeal (with 1tb of honey)
2 banannas
1 20oz. glass of skim milk

Cutting:
5 whole eggs (3 egg whites)
Same carb intake
Same milk intake

Not much of a difference, but overall on my daily diet it changes my calorie/carb/protein intake up quite a bit...

It has worked well so far,
Mega

» bill_juhasz - BIG Breakfast!

Mega/Matt:

How do you choke all of that food down at one sitting? It is all I can do to get 3 eggs, 1 cup of oatmeal (measured dry) and a big glass of milk down in the morning!

Matt: Should I work at it until I stretch my stomach and get it used to that much volume or is best to just eat until you are full? I am currently "stuck" at a bodyweight right now and wonder if trying to cram more down will help.

Tx,
Bill

» MattD_2 - Stomach problems

To a guy like me, that problem is purely hypotehtical - I've always been able to eat half my bodyweight in one sitting (well, almost ;-)), so my problem has always been limiting myself so I don't go overboard and eat too MUCH when bulking up.
Even though I have very limited experience myself, I can give you a couple of pointers that helped clients in the past.

1. Don't FORCE yourself. Stuffing yourself is one thing, overdoing it will only make you nauseated and possibly make you too sluggish to work out later in the day.
2. Eat continously. Eat as much as you can during your regular meals, but try to squeeze in some calorie dense snacks between the meals. As soon as you can get some more down, eat it, and only take a break for an hour or so before your next big meal. Keep fiber content modest in these snacks - you want them to be fairly easy to process.
3. Drink Gainer drinks. A Gainer can pack a whopping 600-800 calories a drink. One or two of those a day should definitely make good "in-between" snacks, while putting minimal strain on your digestive system.
4. Drink plenty of water between snacks and meals, though not immediately before (for obvious reasons). Water helps digestion (enables you to process more food in less time, which translates to more frequent snacks), and also keep the stomach semi-stretched out. Water goes away relatively fast (as everybody who has dieted knows painfully wel), leaving you with an empty stomach and hunger.
There's a fine balance to walk - don't drink so much that you're filling yourself up before the meals and can't eat real food, but also don't cheat yourself on the benefits of staying well hydrated.

» Megamachine - Eating...

Bro,

Believe me it is not always easy, this past winter I found that on a 5000cal. a day diet, I was able to make my most anabolic gains yet. Sure I packed on some bodyfat, but after a few weeks, I really learned to enjoy eating.

I admit I ate, and ate, till I about puked..but my body adjusted, and now its fairly simple to gulp down a good 1000cal. at a sitting if not more.

I also discovered at 3000cal. a day, Im cutting up pretty well. Im keeping a 350g protein intake to a 200g carb intake daily. But my bodyweight plays a role too, that would not work for everyone.

I totally agree on the gainers drink man, I use them religiously while bulking to supp a good 700cal. or so daily. Twin Labs Gainers Fuel 2500 is great stuff...tastes good too..

I wouldnt sweat it alot, you will adjust to it, eat big, lift big and grow..

BTW...did you check my quad killer workout yet? Try it sometime...youll like it..heh..heh..
