» dancooper - Big drivers Thanks Peggy. This article may prove to be a lot of help for me in the coming months. My son is a very large fellow, and can't even get into some cars, let alone drive them safely. I look forward to the second installment in April.Dan Cooper -- posted by dancooper » jerrib - You've really done your homework, Peggy. These lists will really be helpful for those in the car market. Not all cars fit folks the same; is it so we will go and buy new ones on occasion looking for the right vehicle like we shop for shoes? I wonder what body size demographics fit into the decision when automakers design a new model? It would be interesting to know. Just a thought. -- posted by jerrib » phoehne - Re: You've In response to You've posted by jerrib:Dan, I hope you find the information useful. Jerri, some information I turned up says:"Federal regulations require car manufacturers to produce seat belts that only fit people up to 215 pounds. In other words, not all cars have seatbelts suitable for the girth-enhanced." -- posted by phoehne » jerrib - Re: Re: You've In response to Re: You've posted by phoehne:They do need to update their model, don't they? I'm surprised they are still using the old regs and new ones haven't been adopted. -- posted by jerrib » phoehne - Re: Questions on cars In response to Questions on cars posted by ryanj0:I remember my 6' 4" son test driving one and finding it comfortable. The only way to be sure is to drive it yourself, but I think it would be worth testing. My son doesn't have one, but wishes he did. -- posted by phoehne » ryanj0 - Re: Re: Questions on cars In response to Re: Questions on cars posted by phoehne:What about a 1990 Honda Prelude, would that be a good car? -- posted by ryanj0
