» Hackenbush - Re: The best in black and white In response to message posted by JuneM:My favorite black and white movies? Off the top of my head, I would name these: KEY LARGO (probably my favorite black and white movie of all time), Orson Welle's TOUCH OF EVIL and CITIZEN KANE, The Marx Brothers' HORSE FEATHERS, Laurel and Hardy's BLOCK-HEADS, ANGELS WITH DIRTY FACES, OUR VINES HAVE TENDER GRAPES, W.C. Fields' THE BANK DICK and IT'S A GIFT, Chaplin's THE KID, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, CARNIVAL OF SOULS, and Hitchcock's STRANGERS ON A TRAIN. As you can see, I have a soft spot in my heart for Warner Brothers classics, great old comedies and creepy horror movies. Scott and Piper Laurie balancing this incredible force of nature. Tight, perfect script, awesome set designs, wonderful score and gorgeous black and white cinematography. -- posted by user728853
