Depo-Provera What Are The Risks?: Nuvaring side effects

I was on Depo for about 6 years and, other than the uncontrollable, irreversible weight gain, it was fine. In search of a better method, I switched from Depo to minipills, to combo pills, and now Nuva ring. I've been on nuvaring for 1 month, and will give my body about 3 months to adapt, but I developed a vaginal infection in this first month. Now am fearful that the infection may be a recurring thing. I know women who became sterile from prolonged/recurring vaginal infections. Does anyone have any info as to whether the infections will subside with the other symptoms, and/or whether or not infections really lead to sterility? Any info will help!
