Depo-Provera What Are The Risks?Read the article this discussion is about

(i.e, bloating/cramps/nausea) And will they subside or is there something I can take for these irritating symptoms? And yes I did have some spotting along with the mega cramps that I also had forgotten about. I haven't felt this way in 6 years or I should say I forgot what it was like! Eeek-- posted by lzip » GypsyLaura - Re: Re: True or not? After reading all the comments on depro-provera, I feel like a horrible mother. I just put my daughter on it. She has become moody and her face has broken out with huge red swollen bumps. She wants to try the patch or pill. She is not having sex, but wants to be on it in case she chooses to. She has low blood pressure and asthma. I feel like crying after reading the horrors of depro-provera. Please help me. -- posted by GypsyLaura » ttcweb - Re: Depo Switch to NuvaRing In response to message posted by lzip:You can try taking Midol for the bloating and cramps. For the nausea you can just try to watch what you eat or eat soda crackers. As your body adjusts, which can take longer than 3 or 4 months considering you are switching from Depo, the side effects should wear off. -- posted by ttcweb » TinaMarie85 - Petite Women on Depo I am 23 years old and just stopped taking depo provera because it made me bleed all of the time. For some reason or another I began to experience VERY heavy bleeding and blood clots for two-three weeks at a time. At one point it was so heavy and bizarre I thought that I was having a miscarriage. I immediately went to the obgyn who said that I was too small to be taking depo provera-I am a little less than 5ft and weigh 100lbs. She informed me that depo shots only come in a standard dose and that someone smaller may be getting too much of a dosage which will mess up one's hormones and produce too much testosterone and too little estrogen...causing one to bleed profusely. Just a little advice/info for petite women considering depo.-- posted by TinaMarie85 » scnurse - Depro Provera I just got my last shot in July 8 and have only spotted once. I have read that after Depro if you start on birth control pills it should regulate your period. is this true? I have been on depro for 10 years, what are my chances of having another child..Is there anyone out there who has been on depro as long as i have-- posted by scnurse » gheghe - Depo povera/heavy bleeding In response to message posted by TinaMarie85:I also have heavy bleeding and have been on the depo provera for 2 years. I'm not small but weigh about 135 and am 5'5". What are you doing about your problem? Any information you can give me will be appreciated. -- posted by gheghe » mjonesla - Nuvaring side effects I was on Depo for about 6 years and, other than the uncontrollable, irreversible weight gain, it was fine. In search of a better method, I switched from Depo to minipills, to combo pills, and now Nuva ring. I've been on nuvaring for 1 month, and will give my body about 3 months to adapt, but I developed a vaginal infection in this first month. Now am fearful that the infection may be a recurring thing. I know women who became sterile from prolonged/recurring vaginal infections. Does anyone have any info as to whether the infections will subside with the other symptoms, and/or whether or not infections really lead to sterility? Any info will help!-- posted by mjonesla » angleinthedark10 - Depro I was on the pill for a year and a hlaf and i decided to go off becuz of heavy bleeding. About a month ago i got the depro shot with no side effects but i still havent recieved my period...is it anything to worry bout?-- posted by angleinthedark10 « Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Next » Please follow the guidelines set forth in the Suite101 Posting Etiquette when adding to the discussion. |
