» avril0313 - Re: Depo

I have been on Depo for almost two years now. I have experienced a side effect that is almost unheard of. In fact, I wasn't even told about this particular side effect until about one week ago.

Of course I've experienced the obvious side effects: lack of sex drive, weight LOSS actually, lack of self-lubrication, etc.

Now I had this other issue that has been excused as undiagnoendometriosisosis for the last year and a haDyspareuniaunia, or painful sex, has been my issue. I have quite literally not had good sex in almost 2 years.

So I go see this doctor and he tells me all abouDepow Depo is a synthetic hormone and actually inhibits production of the natural hormone estrogen. (Which as we all know ladies, is what makes us women) What they don't tell you is that estrogen is the building blocks of the vaginal wall. The part that makes sex good actually thins out and creates THE most painful sex you could ever imagine. We're talking a penis wrapped in sandpaper...

...I'm going to be seeing my doctor in about a week or so, but I am wondering if there's anyone out there who's in my predicament. Maybe there's someone who knows where I'm coming from. No offence, but please remember that I've heard it all before and I'm really looking for a response from someone who knows what they do work. If there's a particular lubricant or something that works, please leave a brand name or something. emailease email me if you are a suDepoor of Depdyspareuniayspareunia at avril0313@sympatico.ca

Thanks so much!

» pixiechic72634 - Depo Vera????

Hi. I'm 16 years old. My mother has made me an appointment to get depo vera. I was wondering if this is such a good idea, because in about ten or so years, I want to have kids, and I don't want to have problems like I have heard from this and other websites. Could someone tell me if this is such a good idea? E-mail me at pixiechic7263407@aol.com

I'm 17 years old and I got the Depo Vera shot about 6 months ago and I wish I never got it. I've had so many problems with it. I've had continuous bleeding since 4 days after i got the shot. I have gained weight, I get terrible cramps, I get bad headaches and I'm depressed all of the time. I've been on the pill before and although it is a pain to take everyday I wish I would have just stuck with that. I know it works different for some people and some people love it. From my experience though, I wouldn't recommend it.

For some strange reason I thought I was the only one bleeding for two and three months at a time. What do you do? Better yet, What do you use? When everything you use has a bad side effect on your body.

» mounty413 - Depoprovera birth control shot

Hi, I am 18 years old and have been getting the depoprovera shot since 17. I was taking the birth control pill when I was 16 and decided to start getting the shot because I would sometimes forget to take the pill everyday and the thought of not getting my period was awesome. When I started to get the shot, I wasn't told of any side affects. I have not any affects such as weight gain but i have noticed a lack in sex drive. I am also scared this will mess my body up so that in a few years I will not be able to have children.

I am so glad I found this site! I have been looking for days for something that might make me feel better and I think I have found it. I have been oDepopo shots for seven years. The last two and a half to three years I have been having incredible pain with intercourse and afterwards it feels as if I have been ripped. I went in for my yearly exam to a new doctor a few days ago and they have me set up for a hole punch biopsy on my vagina due to the condition of my skin. Needless to say, the new doctor was upset that my old doctor had not noticed the white, sick looking tissue that surrounds the bottom half of my vagina. I am scared to death. She told me all of the things that it could be and then proceeded to tell me that it could be a side effect of being odepopo for so long. Although the biopsy will be painful, I have been living through that kind of pain every time I have intercourse and hopefully it will not be cancerous, but a side effect of the shot. I will never have the shot again and I am upset that I was not told about this in the beginning and that it was not noticed before now as I do go every year for my exam.
