What is and where to find Double Strength Ivy Decoction
This archived discussion is "read only".
» Jan_Parsons - What is and where to find Double Strength Ivy Decoction Newbie here....what is Double Strength Ivy Decoction and where would one find it (or how would one make it?).Also....is there a typo in the last ingredient? Is "droop" supposed to be drop, or is a "droop" another form of measurement (and no I'm not being funny, I wouldn't want to assume I know all measurements, since I've never heard the word "decoction" either, lol). Thanks. -- posted by Jan_Parsons » chamomile - Re: What is and where to find Double Strength Ivy Decoction In response to message posted by Jan_Parsons:Hi Jan: Drooping is probably how I felt that day...lol..no the correct word is drop, thanks for bringing that to my attention.. Ok, a decoction is when you take a herb, dried or fresh and boil it in water to get all the oils, mineral, other properties out of the plant itself. After it comes to a boil, cover and let set until cool, pour into a dark colored bottle and store. A double-decoction is when you use double of what you normally would..2 cup of fresh herb to two cups water or 1 cup dried herb to two cups water. This is a normal batch...double it for double decoction. If you have any other questions feel free to ask... Kim -- posted by chamomile
