Kim,
I really enjoyed this article. I want to start making my own soaps, lotions and scented candles for myself and as gifts. Thanx for all the valuable information.
Great job
Ann

I knew this was fairly easy, but had no idea of the recipes to use. Thanks, Kim! I have been planning to make these for Christmas gifts for years and never gotten around to it by Christmas time... maybe if I start now? *grin*

Love & Hugs,
Darlene

Unfortunately, a bubble bath made of actual soap won't work in water that's significantly "hard", even if relatively "soft". That means, unless your bath water's run thru a water conditioner first, or you add enough of water "softening" bath salts (such as sodium hexametaphosphate), it just won't work.

I got an e-mail from someone a few weeks ago complaining of just that problem. She'd used such a recipe she'd read somewhere, it made bubbles as she poured it into the water stream, but there were none by the time the tub was full.

Yet such recipes keep getting posted. i suspect the great majority of people who've posted these particular recipes haven't tried them to see if they work! And I mean try them in an actual bathtubful, not just a little in the sink, say.

Successful bath foams are soapless.
