» phoehne - Re: Re: Good advice In response to message posted by Kristen Cardozo :My kids are pretty well grown now, but my 19 yearold, Brian, has let it be known he is greatful for the simple, short name with the basic spelling (not Bryan). He says his favorite name is Bob, because it is the simplest name he has ever seen. You can even spell it backward. My almost 16 year old seems happy enough with Jeffrey (Jeff) or when I'm mad at him, Jeffrey Jon! The different spelling of Jon came from a relative. When he was a bout 10 he went to camp and came home amazed after meeting a Geoffrey. My advice is keep it simple and keep in mind that someday little Ricky is going to be grown man feeling very silly signing legal documents as Ricky. Name him Richard and call him Ricky. What I have been noticing is how many girls are being named with names that were traditionally either men's names or family last names. there are tons of girls being named Madison, Taylor, Delaney, etc. I suppose it will help them when they are older and do not get automatically turned down because the name on the application isn't obviously female. -- posted by phoehne
