For the record, I know this article is old, but Subaru now sells an easily comparable car (although the styling is a love-it/hate-it kind of thing). 2 litre turbocharged 4 cylinder, 228 hp, all wheel drive, 25k on the road, unbeatable handling (usually reviewed as being a "poor mans M3"). Rumors are that Subaru will be bringing the WRX Sti (~300Hp, upgraded suspention, brakes, etc) to North America too. If that happens, expect reviewers to say stuff like "the M3 is an overpriced version of the WRX".-- posted by moghua
