» Tom - Holden

Hey,

A friend of mine sent me this the other day, check it out.....

http://www.just-auto.com/news_detail.asp...

Oops, seems the link isn't good anymore. Anyway, the article was about Ford Crown Victorias used by State Troopers in the US having a big problem with deaths by fire from rear end collisions. They are thinking about switching to the Aussie Ford Holden because of its plastic fuel tanks placed above the rear axle. Problem is, none of the Holdens are being made yet for driving in the USA with steering in the left front instead of the right.

I am not sure oin th eplans Ford have for their Falcon, but GM are working on getting a number of Holdens on sale in the US. The first will be the new Pontiac GTO.

Tehy are keen to get the Hodel utility into the US once they get the fuel tanks in the right place.

A lot of Holdens are sold in the Middle East as the Chevrolet Lumina.

We seem to becoming the home of the rear wheel drive front engined car.
