This was a very interesting article. I know a lot about Captain Cook. I have researched his life extensively. My grandmothers maiden name was cook and my aunt has traced our family tree back to him.

Sorry to reply so late. I have seen Cook's cottage in Melbourne here in Australia. It was brought here in bits and re-erected. You don't realise that people in that era were much more small than we are. The Cook's probably were 'Cooks', like the Fletchers and the Coopers etc.
