Circumcision Myths, Part IIRead the article this discussion is about

» bigmac425 - Circumcision myths I hope men and women begin to do research concerning the sensitivity, function and protection of the foreskin. Seems people are beginning to see that the foreskin is not just another piece of skin because of its structure (mucous membrane on one side with lubricant, protective skin on the other). As a man get older, the skin of a circumcised glans gets dryer, less sensitive and harder to stimulate. If you observe what area is most sensitive, it is the areas where the circumcision scar is--this is the mucous membrane and external skin fused.I know as a mans mate ages her juices decrease leading to pain and bleeding due to dryness--even lubricants can't stop all of these symptoms. Seems nature has provided a solution, but man keeps interfering. We did not have our son circumcised and have not regretted one minute of our decision. He is 13 years old and has never seen his glans with the skin pulled back. His skin is long and has a medium opening in the end, but it is growing and starting to open when gently retracted. It seems his preputal bands are slowing the retraction, so we are waiting with anticipation. He has never had any problems and would never consider circumcision. There are many alternative methods to correct problems if they occur. If circumcised men would do some study and observation, they would be more inclined to leave their sons intact to experience sex as it is meant. Leave the decision up to your child to make--I was not given the choice and continue to regret not having the option. I can only imagine what it would feel like to enjoy the sexual variation with a foreskin. -- posted by bigmac425 » biogardener - Myths Those are myths, all right, and I have never heard of any of them in my life. Where did they originate and where did you get the 60% circumcision rate? Maybe it refers to one certain country, and that country certainly is not Canada nor any European country. In these countries, the circumcised boys would stick out, not the uncircumcised ones. When I grew up in Europe, all children ran around naked on the beach, and I never saw one single circumcised boy. The only non-Jewish/non-Muslim circumcized Canadian man I know of received his operation for medical reasons as an adult. The 2003 stats for Canada are 11.46%, and you can check them here. This article talks about the world-wide situation. And here you can read a bit of the history of circumcision over the last 100 years.. -- posted by biogardener
