What makes you think I was trying to sway anyone with my observations?

I'm sure I do.

As you may have noticed, I also annoy a lot of people who claim to believe in God.

Is the point here not to annoy anyone? Are we all just to go around being Mr. Goody Two Shoes?

I've always believed the mark of a good discussion is related to the honesty of those involved. Decency should enter into the picture, shouldn't it?

If someone decides to call a spade a spade, should that be seen as wrong? The blade cuts both ways.

Some people don't like having their personal belief system called a myth and others don't mind that you would express your true beliefs on the matter. I think you have a right to voice and express your opinions about what you think is a myth and what you think is fact. And, I support your right to do so.

I'm sure that statement of mine is annoying to some others. The blade cuts both ways.

smile

Why make a big deal out of it?

For example, Pinky101 had his login blocked by some management person. Why? Because of something posted that was deleted? Who knows what was deleted? Do you? The only thing you know is that things were deleted and you're going to have to take someone's word for it that what was deleted was a true violation of rules.

Figure it out. Some people don't like opposition; but, opposition is the whitstone of our understanding.

Annoy? I hope so. Don't you?

I saw both The Passion and Bruce Almighty and I must admit Bruce Almighty had a stronger message.

If Mr Gibson wants to do a Jesus flick he should aim it at all audiences, not just Christians. My non-Christian friend saw the Passion with us and he didn't know what was going on in some parts. He should of done the whole life of Christ, not just the last 12 hours.

Oh well, I'm off track now. Great article Franc28.smile

Interesting article. We all see the same thing at different levels. Well, I saw and enjoyed 'Bruce Almighty'..haven't yet seen The Passion although my niece is to lend me her pirated DVD. Strange..out of all the pirated movie DVDs about..I think it's odd to pirate that one.

Like 'The Man Who Sued God' I actually get a message beyond the humour. And in 'Bruce Almighty' I just assumed Bruce was not given the insight or skill needed to deal with the powers...nor God's "power to delegate". Bruce only was able to try it..not pass it on to his mates. And Bruce was far more computer literate than me so I'd be worse fielding all the emailed prayers too.

I haven't seen The man who sued God yet but I hear it's good. Strange though, how a country (Australia) that makes terrible comedies could make something like this. Good film from my home land. I'm also a fan of Billy Connelly.smile

"Strange though, how a country (Australia) that makes terrible comedies could make something like this." So, help your home land out..encourage the USA to stop dumping all their second-rate movies here. smile But try and see TMWSG and tell me what you think.

It's a secular movie. That's all I know. I don't think there is any Christian messages in it or any thing like that. It's just a fun movie.smile

» IMADAG2 - The Man Who Sued God

In response to message posted by Franc28:
Billy Connolly's character has his fishing boat struck by lightning..insurance refused..told it's an act of God, so as a lawyer he sues the church as God's representative on Earth. Very interesting twists in the legal arguments in court where bishops et al give evidence cross examined by Billy.

Enjoyable, very funny..not insulting of faith IMO. More of a dig at insurance companies and at the bizarre option they may need to prove God does not exist to win against Billy. And at the ending...nah..too much information!
