» Tina_Coruth - Crowning achievement?

Rodolfo, each step of the journey of this series is more fascinating than the one that preceded it.

I do think we humans overrate ourselves a bit - it seems we always have and to our chagrin. LOL

When I'm stargazing I find myself filled with such a sense of awe. Part of that is the realization that I'm not even a speck in the scheme of the Universe. It is humbling!

I am very curious about the final article in this series. I look forward to reading it!!

A sense of awe certainly.
This leads to different forms of handling it. I for myself, while keeping a deep respect to religious feeling elicited by it, find even more fascinating the advancing insights provided by science that, while not filling all details in every corner, present a big picture coming more and more into focus.

Many things will never be known during our lifetimes on earth. Perhaps at least some of the mysteries will be revealed during the lifetimes that follow -- assuming that we will be given another roll of the dice once we leave this earth.

Who knows ...

At least, there is no compelling reason to rule it out. (neither to confirm, except I wish it were)

What I love about faith is that it costs nothing and gives one's soul some much needed hope.

The Christian faith says that you will not come back. Eastern Mysticism says that you keep coming back until you get it right (or left)... All other faiths/beliefs fall between these...

Perhaps at least some of the mysteries will be revealed during the lifetimes that follow

What is ironic about your statement Hank, is that the Bible declares that a 'mystery' actually means, to reveal.

Baker's Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology - Mystery:

God graciously responds to this human inadequacy by revealing his purpose to his people. When God's purpose is revealed in this way, the Bible frequently refers to it as a "mystery."

The Bible reveals two mysteries: That of God and that of Iniquity...

Rev:10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

2Thess:2:7: For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

Alas, I'm too dumb to understand the passages you quote and I'm not at all sure that anyone understands Revelations.

I didn't express my thoughts very well. I was thinking we over rated ourselves when we thought we were the center of the universe and I think we are not particularily nice to this planet.

I am also fascinated with "the advancing insights provided by science." I also agree that science is bringing the big picture more and more into focus. These are very exciting times. I don't even mind being a speck. LOL

The Internet does a great job of helping us understand the worlds around us, doesn't it? A few decades ago it was much more difficult to comprehend how little we knew.
