» ingrast - Re: Black Holes In response to Black Holes posted by _Boanerges_:Greetings Wendell, thanks for visiting again. Interestingly there may be some late news regarding black holes, I'll se if I can wrap up an article tiptoeing arround obscure (no pun intended) details. And thanks for your interest in my country. Definitely yes, the traditional political establishment dating over 170 years from the beginings of our nation had stagnated to the point of being basically unable to pull a viable response to the challenges of modern global and national conditions. Though corruption is not presently the biggest issue - it exists of course - simply the lack of professionalism in administration has placed this country plentiful of natural resources, with no racial or etnic problems, a mild climate and deriorating but still relevant level of education, in a situation where the mean household income is less than U$3000 (yearly) and for 20% of households less than U$1500. This is official data available from government services through the Internet. 70,000 childs (in a population of less than 3: ) do not receive suficient nutrition to develope correctly neither get adecuate medical care. An this happens in a food producing country. The incoming leftist (more closely related to the european socialist kind)coalition brings highly talented professionals to fill positions thorought the administration, balanced with an equally strong presence of veterans - many with former political careers in the old parties - fed up with the existing inoperance and lack of etics. Bussiness organizations in turn, have had for a long time contacts and exchange of ideas with the coalition, and there is public agreement goals and guidelines are coincident. The popular joyfull explosion that took place (I was there, have to see it to believe) minutes after the announcement by poll specialists of the election's outcome, spontaneous and massive in every street, was something absolutely without precedent, bearing witness to the hopes the majority is placing on the change. We all have high (or desesperate if you want) hopes in the future though well aware the recovery will be long and hard. -- posted by ingrast
