» Tina_Coruth - Great advice!

Great advice! I love observing with my binoculars. I was able to observe S1999 Comet Linear with my binoculars last July. My favorite part of the sky is the Sagittarius/Scorpius area. I agree with you 100%, people would be very surprised at all they can see with a pair of binoculars and Sky&Telescope magazine.

I enjoy reading your articles!

» ron103 - Binoculars

What is a good magnification for binoculars to view the heavens? I'm just starting out and am looking at all different size of binoculars and don't have a clue. Thank you in advance!

» May9ard - Good info. Start simple.

Glad the article is still here!! I'm interested in putting a little more into my sky gazing. I've always loved looking at the dark skies. I also love gazing at mountain ranges which are not too far from where I live Washington State. So getting a decent pair of binoculars will work in more ways than one.
I'm looking at a pair of Minolta WP/FP 7x50's. I'm hoping they'll do the job well.

Psalms 8:3-4
3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained;
4 What is man that You take thought of him,
And the son of man that You care for him?
