I have just been diagnosed with cough variant asthma and I'm not about to get rid of our beloved 11 year old cat. That makes sense that doing other thinks to keep the allergies down as I know it is the cumulation that gets to me. Also I had never though of leaving the furnace fan running, I am going to try it right now.-- posted by annej

In response to message posted by annej:Anne, I'm glad my article gave you some ideas to try. Be sure to talk with your allergist and see if he/she has any other suggestions. My brother has terrible cat allergies and yet they just got a new kitten because his wife and daughters can't live without a cat. Among the suggestions in my article, he also takes allergy shots to help lessen the impact.
