» GustavFan - Healthy Lung Month Gee...if I would have known sooner it was Healthy Lung Month I would have made my family throw me a big party! I have suffered with acute asthma for quite some time now. Thank you for writing an article to dispel some myths....the biggest one for me being that you can "treat" your asthma with an emergency inhalor like albuterol. I tried it that way after visits to too many doctors with too many differences of opinions came up empty. For years I relied on my albuterol inhalor, using it sometimes nearly 40 times a day. Yup...that's right...DANGEROUS!Anyway, I have been well maintained on my meds (and lots of them!) for two years. I can hardly believe it has actually been that long since I actually sleep through the night without an attack. Actually, no real attacks to speak of in two years! Thanks again for the article. -- posted by GustavFan » LeighGK - Re: Healthy Lung Month In response to message posted by GustavFan:I'm so glad that you liked the article, but I'm more happy to know that you've gotten your asthma under control. That's great! And you're right, using an albuterol (Ventolin) inhaler so many times a day is very dangerous. Leigh G. I haven't felt like it has been helping.I took it before rollerskating this past Wednesday night, I still wheezed/rattled in the chest and didn't feel good. Feel like I have been trying to recover ever since. That is why I think I better see a specialist. What do you think? I do have allergies all year round. Gabriella -- posted by Gabriella12
