It has been so wonderful to read your articles. I truly feel that some one else understands and knows how I feel.My son who just turned 12 was diagnosed the 30th of April.I feel like his whole life makes sense now. I understand so many things. I still don't know how to handle him, but at least I understand. The Psychologist told me he was like two full time jobs.We are on the waiting list for services at Teacch in Wilmington, N.C.-- posted by bensmom89

For years I thought I was the only one in the world with a child like mine and when we got the diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome, I finally made sense out of his behaviour too. Once I made the mental connections as to why he does some of the things he does I get along with him much better now and I can explain his difficulties much easier to the teachers.

I'm doing well in the computer field, despite having just been laid off. (I'll have another job soon, I have no fear)
Aspies do well as....
Scientists (all)
Musicians
Actors
Writers
and any other occupation where unconventional thought is an asset rather than a liability.

In response to message posted by barbe:I know this may be alot to ask but my son was diginosed on janurary9th and im to the point that with how his teacher treats him and the kids I should take him out he is 11 but I have tried to understand aspergers syndrome but its hard I read the articles and they help but how do I get his school to they are no help they rather I take him out then help.
