» Barbara Bell - I can relate!

But don't get so far down, Joe, that you stop observing that sunset and then creating something beautiful out of it with your own hands. Your articles are indeed eagerly awaited by many of us, and are always thought-provoking. If they provide an escape for you from the daily grind, all the better! smile

» Jo Murphy - Hey??

In response to message posted by bici:

You seem to publish heaps? More than one a month!
Why not put the extra time into going back through everything you have written so well and create a course from what you have worked so hard to create?
That way you would get paid - have people to bounce your idea around with.
And...........feel you are getting even further along in the writing world.
When you say you work for the Government do you draw maps??
That is what I thought you meant but I am not sure.
I like your work and have always found you to be ahead of schedule.
Give me an email if you would like to talk over plans or just 'chew the fat'
I think you are a talented artist.

Thanks all.

I do publish more than one a month. I try to maintain the weekly schedule I set up for myself back in the day when editors were paid to write for the suite.

The thought of a course is interesting so is taking a large portion of my pereviously written articles and publishing it as a book. CafePress has recently introduced books as soemthing else a shop owner can produce.

As for maps. I was a drafting techinician for a while. Using CAD software I would maintain county maps for the state I work in by adding digital lines to the vector map on a monthly basis. On occassion I might produce a special map. For some time now, however, I've just been a programmer. I maintain a database and project tracking system for the Unit I'm in. Quite a distance, in my opinion anyway, from artistry, but I try to make the most of it.

The Suite, my wife, and extremely scant work on the side keeps me going. I've taken up Tae Kwon Do in the past couple of months (Yellow Belt now, thanks!) and the idea of beauty in movement and form of the body through a set pattern encourages my artistic thinking.

Yes I think along those lines too. Don't work too hard maybe this is a changing time for you where the time could be used to write the course and the book so that you could see it all come together. I have always liked your themes. You think of exciting angles to come from in your topic.
I have often experimented with the ideas you have suggested.
I will get on to the Art Exhibition soon so that we can all show case our work and get to know each other better.
Does your wife do art too?

My wife is generally not interested in creating art. She doesn't mind looking at it, for the most part but prefers to look at the art which portrays subject of interest to her. (Bunnies, Dogs, Egypt, Aerosmith, Vin Diesel (grumble grumble) a few other things) ;)

This of course leaves me to admire haystacks, constructionism, abstract expressionism, cubism, spiders, Gwen Stefani (grumble grumble from her), and a few other things. ;)
