» Bellowbelle - Lavender oil to massage dogs

I did see a special report on TV once, though, about a place that did pet therapy. They used lavender oil (probably mixed with a carrier or something) in doggy massage! They said that the dogs had a good reaction to it.

I have also heard of lavender and other oils -- almond, I think -- used to clean a dog's ears. In small amounts, I'm sure.

Me, I have parakeets, as well as dogs. I made a small herbal pillow with a mix of lavender and pine herbs, that I keep on a small rack on top of the cage (it's safely away from the birds' reach). I fluff it when I feed them. I use this instead of those metal-can bird cage protectors that are bought and then discarded. So far, after over a year, my birds seem healthy and have no bad bug problem!
