» Sunbear - Ceramics Hi Barbara,As I said on your other topic, sorry to have been a stranger to my Suite friends as of late. These patters seem quite interesting. Joyce and I are think about buying some cherry red earthenware from Waechtersbach (in Germany), a company that has been around since 1832. Their colors are so very deep and vibrant. Wishing you the best for the new year. Tom -- posted by Sunbear » Barbara Nicholson Bell - Re: Ceramics In response to message posted by Sunbear:Nice to hear from you, Tom! Happy new year! I've been trying to upload a picture of the Niloak to the article but it hasn't been working lately. It's very unusual. -- posted by Barbara Nicholson Bell » Barbara Nicholson Bell - Re: We were in that area In response to message posted by jerrib:Finally I have been able to upload a picture of my Niloak vase. As you can see the colors are amazing! -- posted by Barbara Nicholson Bell » Fort_Spunky - Niloak Hi Barbara,Enjoyed reading about Niloak and seeing the photograph of your vase, which is a very interesting shape. The handles in particular are unusual. My cousin has a little five-inch pitcher made by Niloak, but it isn't the swirled colored clay. It looks more like the matte finishes that Van Briggle used. Linda -- posted by Fort_Spunky » Barbara Nicholson Bell - Re: Niloak In response to message posted by Fort_Spunky:I changed the photo in the article from the Mission swirl to the Hywood pattern, Linda. But the swirl pattern is the one described in the article, of course. I just recently sold the Hywood vase with its interesting handles on eBay! That's the last of my Niloak pieces, so I got the article written just in time... -- posted by Barbara Nicholson Bell
