Signs and Symptoms of Anorexia
This archived discussion is "read only". « Previous 1 2 3 Next » » littlemiss_17 - please help hi. how r u? im am currently experiencing anorexia/bulimia and seeing a counsellor. how did u get over it because im having difficulty understanding how i am meant to eat like a normal person.please mail back to coolgal172003@yahoo.com -- posted by littlemiss_17 » gimmigimmi - question I'm not really sure exactly how to state my question but I will try my best. I'm curious as to if you people think this is an eating problem because I don't think so, but one of my friends told me today that she thinks I have a problem. I eat a BIG bowl of cereal every morning, and then chew 5 piece of gum while at school. When I get home I won't eat anything for the rest of the day and then jog for 15-20 minutes every night. About every 3 days I will eat a big meal, like meat & lots of fries or 3 pieces of pizza or something like that and then eat a big dessert like a big bowl of ice cream. I crave chocolate A LOT. After BIG meals I run for about 50 minutes til an hour. Every time after I eat a lot my stomach will hurt so bad that sometimes I can't move for a while. I am under 110 and am 5'6 tall. What do you think? Just curious. Are any of these things signs? Or is my friend just worried. And I lose a lot of hair, but I'm not seeing any of the 'fine dawny' hair that I hear about. I feel REALLY GUILTY after I eat.-- posted by gimmigimmi » keewil9738 - Re: question In response to message posted by gimmigimmi:Yes u definately have a problem. Let's analyze everything u said for a moment. First off u only eat one meal a day, Then u exercise that afternoon, I'm assuming that is to burn off what u ate that day. Then u say that u eat one big meal every 3 days with dessert, then u exercise that much more. The key hint is when you stated that u always feel guilty after u eat. Yes honey u have an eating disorder, It sounds like to me that u are definately anorexic and i suggest that u seek therapy. -- posted by keewil9738 » Rocker12 - I dunno... Hey, I have lost at least ten pounds over the summer. I am 5'9 and was 150 pounds. I'm a varsity swimmer so during the school year I add pounds because of the muscle I put on, so I know that part of my weight loss is due to muscle loss. But then I also have this thing where I'm really hungry and then when I sit down to eat I suddenly feel sick so I eat or force myself to eat as much as possible. Sometimes after I eat I'll feel like throwing up. Then other times I'm always wanting to eat something. I don't know if I have a eating disorder or not. My friends are worried because I have lost the weight and really don't need to. So I guess if anyone has any info as to what my problem is or questions I'd like feedback. My 14 year old daughter does not think she has a problem even though she goes to a counselor. Do you think it would help if she read some of themailsails or would it do more damage...I am not sure what to do.... -- posted by tori35 » chipper3 - Re: Re: Re: Encouragement In response to message posted by g_mccasland:

In response to message posted by Rocker12:I believe that you should research eating disorders online, because it sounds like you are a binge-purger. Except, possibly you have not succumbed to the purging phase. -- posted by ashtray1111 » ashtray1111 - Re: Re: Re: Re: Encouragement In response to message posted by chipper3:You are completely right. It usually has to do with control. Many people with eating disorders feel like they do not have any control over their lives.. except what goes in their mouths and if they decide to keep it in there. Therefore, it is usually best that they work on gaining more control in their lives. Sometimes, not as much, it is a suicide attempt. Some people punish themselves through the lack of food. They start to die a slow death. This also is a cry for help. -- posted by ashtray1111 » bigwell - Re: question In response to question posted by gimmigimmi:
