First, welcome to the Suite, Shannon. I love animation and marvel at the folks with the vision, talent and patience to create characters and stories to rival "live" talent.

Second, your story of getting your feet under you in L.A. rang some bells with me. Been there, done that. Wish I had had the pointers you provide in your article. It's a tough burg particularly if your aim is The Industry and you come from a town with a whopping three stoplights. Good for you!

Another useful housing resource is the Recycler, which is online now. Don't have the link but it's fairly easy to find using Yahoo. You're right, the L.A. Times is a bear to navigate and, IMHO, the housing ads fairly limited to those with more resources than most.

Again, welcome and kudos on a very informative article. Good luck with your animation career. From what I know about it, the life can be grueling but, if animation is your vocation, the rewards well worth the adventure.
