Thank you! I love them too. I had decided to do my October article about bats early in September. I went to the Echo Center in Burlington VT in early October, and they had a special display on bats, plus presentations! So I was able to do hands-on research for my article, which was really nice. smile

Lucky you! I went and read Joy's article, too, and there's a link that shows how to build a bat house... think I might have to try it smile (well, I might have to get the hubby to try it LOL)

When my son was 13 years old, he and I spent a week sleeping on our camping matresses under the roof of an old log house in central British Columbia. The windows had been knocked out and bats had built their nests on the beams of the roof. All night long they were flying in and out feeding their babies. When the moon shone into the attic, we could see what they were doing. It was one of the most memorable experiences of that summer.
