» biogardener - I love frogs
I have always loved frogs, but then I love to touch things which feel gooey, both with my hands and in my mouth. Since I was a little child, I have handled so many frogs that I couldn't begin to count them.During my second year of teaching, I had a frog who went to school with me. He was a great incentive for the children to get their work finished to be able to take the frog out of his aquarium and play with him on their desks.
The poor thing jumped in the wrong direction one day and ended up in a forced hot air heating duct where he fried. He may still be haunting the house for all I know.
I love to listen to frogs in the marshes. Their song is so relaxing that it puts me to sleep.
What I really appreciate about frogs is their diet. They take care of all the insect pests for which I have no use.

Excellent point re: the bugs. We too have a lot of wild frogs around here. Tree frogs primarily, who nest in the trees but appreciate the moisture from the lake a few feet away. They sing incessantly in the summer and some people hate the sound, but I love it. I can tell it really is summertime if the frogs are singing us evening lullabies.Since writing this article I have added another frog to my family. She is very small yet, a juvenile, and she is the same breed as Moon, but she's traditional camoflauge green (whereas Moon is albino). I call her Hypno, named after a dog who was a logo/mascot for a local floating photo development company here on the lake, at the turn of the 20th century.
I'm just getting the 30 gallon tank ready for when Hypno is big enough to be put in with Moon!
