Origins on Theatre arts in Egypt

Hi, My name is Sarah and I am currently in yr 12 and I am doing the I.B. course. This means that I need to do an extended essay. My chosen topic is the origins of Drama. I have found some interesting links between ancient Egypt and Greece and was wondering if they were allies or enemies, as the shared similar beliefs. ie: the worship of the God Dionsyus. Geologically they are close enough to "sail" between their continents. Were they close allies? Were they enemies? or did they even exist at the same time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
