Nikole's personal homepage is excellent. I have recommended it to many people who teach Egypt to children. I was astounded to realize her age!

Hi all, i am rather new to this website...and i am looking for some information. First of all...can someone please tell me what language is mostly spoken in egypt presently. I also am looking for any information i can get my hands on, on Hamunaptra. And the book of the dead, and the book of Amun-re. To whomever it may concern,
I have recently become facinated with Egyptian Historty, especially Hamunaptra. If there is any information or sites where I can find info, please let me know. Thank you for your time and patience. I am also interested in Heiroglyphics, any info on that would be most helpful. Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Amanda Tipton

I am also very interested in this topic of the city of the dead, Hamunaptra. I would also like to learn about the Book of the Dead, Auck-su-namun, and every thing else. Is there anyone out there that would be willing to teach me the ancient Egyptian language of Hyeroglyphics? Thank you so much. Please e-mail me at BlondieLL2004@hotmail.com? Thank you,
Lindsey

» SAPP99 - To those who saw the mummy

Hello, i might have some insight to all those questions from the movie the mummy. First, there was a city of the dead, buy it was not named hamanoptra. It was based off of the city Amarna. Anuksaamuhn. was the wife of king tut, and not a mistress. Imhotep helped to build the first step piramid of Djoser and was not an evil priest. The book of amuhnRA I asume is named after Amuhn, the god of creation and RA the sun god. History says there was a "book of the dead" though. I must admit, i loved the movie, and i am glad to see alot of people looking into Ancient Egypt. I hope I was of some help and hope to talk to you all soon!!!

Hamunaptra as a name did not exist, the city of the dead is more likely to be Saqqara and the book is similar to the book of thoth, there are many good sites out there which can provide loads of information, i myself only began the search this evening and already i have learnt much. I watched the mummy again this weekend and became even more fascinated than i was when i was a child. I'll get there one day ( wish i didn't dislike flying so much!).
