Hi Linda,

Indeed, I have never heard of Philip Freneau. Thank you for bringing him to our attention.

I enjoyed the article, and I enjoy your site. I've recently become more serious about poetry and appreciate being introduced to so many poets I can learn from!

Hi, Pamela--
Thanks for your kind words about my site. I'm glad to have introduced you to Philip Freneau. Always happy to spread the word about poets and poetry.

I'll have to check out your site. My PhD focused specifically on British literature; my dissertation analyzed W. B. Yeats' use of Eastern philosophy. But all poetry from ancient time to the present is my real love, and I am happy to be focusing more on American poetry with my Suite101 site.

It occurs to me that even his name, Philip Freneau, is lyrical!

Yeats is a poet I need to learn more about, too. So many writers, so little time!
