Fort Pillow: A Tennessee MassacreRead the article this discussion is about

» FortBrooke1824 - good stuff Nathan Forrest was never brought up on any of these charges. As badly as the North wanted to. I contend that many things like this happened in the Civil War. I thought it somewhat interesting that two of the three men questioned were from Tenn. As you know Forrest had been a slave dealer in Memphis before the war. From some accounts that i have read, a few of the blacks at the fort when asked to surrender (before the assault) had grabbed their groins and yelled some well bad words. It's a wonder that any of them lived.-- posted by FortBrooke1824
