This question may sound weird and out of place, but I have a very important question that needs to be answered. When did the Civil War become inevitable?

In response to message posted by MandaRae:

well, I think that it's a very good question, and it has a rather easy answer. Many historians have argued that when violence has occurred or blood is spilt, that there is no way back and more violence in inevitable. Therefore, you could say that when John Brown led the attack on Harper's Ferry, the way was inevitable because it rallied both sides around the issue of slavery and brought violence to the fore-front
