Baby Boomer Looks at the 55th Anniverseary of Hiroshima Bombing
This archived discussion is "read only".
» jerrib - Welcome to the Suite I find your views interesting. I, too, am a boomer and did not have the fear you talk of; my family was a positive sort, and it never occurred to us to be afraid.I understand the boomer years to be from 1945-1965. My brother is at the bottom, my daughter at the end of the era. We all have differing views of the 60's - it will be interesting to view your articles and discussions to see how we all interpret the times. Enjoy your stay here; I'm sure I'll learn from you! Jerri -- posted by jerrib » Terrie_Bittner - Welcome to the Suite. Welcome to the Suite. This is a fascinating time and it will fun to have it explored here. We don't have too many time periods yet where the editor can remember the events he/she is writing about, but we're getting a few. I was in grade school during the sixties and have vague memories of many of the events, since watching the news together and discussing it was a family rule. I'm glad you are here.-- posted by Terrie_Bittner » BuckyRea - Problem I liked your Hiroshima article. I remember bomb drills too, altho they were during the early 70s and they started calling them "hurricane drills" by the 3rd grade.I'm writing to letcha know I had a small problem navigating your topic site. When I hit the "next article" link from the Hiroshima article, it sent me back to the top of the Hiroshima article instead of on to your essay. If Suite 101 weren't free of charge I'd ask for my money back. You might wanna ask your managing editor or someone at the Vancouver office to try and fix that. (By the by, one of my recent articles dealt with a world without a Hiroshima bombing--and another dealt with 60s tv show Star Trek. I'd love to have your input on these if you get some spare time). -- posted by BuckyRea
